Are you ready to take your waterskiing skills to the next level with a slalom ski? Before deciding this is the right path, let’s make sure you’re ready for this challenging sport.
Have you mastered a pair of combo skis? Have you tried out the HO Hovercraft? If you answered yes to these questions, you’re ready to take a slalom ski for a spin. And we have the top three slalom skis for beginners right here.
1. Radar Session
The Session is the widest slalom ski on the list. This make it easier for deep water starts and provides the most stable ride. It’s a great ski for those looking to cruise the open water and start making some of their first turns on a slalom ski.
The Session features a level spine and grip rails which reduces drag which ultimately makes it easier on your arms when being pulled out of the water. The all-terrain construction makes this ski a great option for those who want to ski even if it’s a little choppy out.
(Best skied between 20 and 30 mph)
2. Radar Union
The Union is a favorite among the Radar slalom ski lineup. This waterski is four tenths of an inch wider than the Vapor, giving the skier a great sense of balance. This is important for the learning process of slalom skiing.
This water ski features an all-terrain core which allows the rider to take this ski out in less-than-ideal conditions. As far as open water skis go, you’ll have a hard time finding a more enjoyable ride than the Union.
(Best skied between 24 and 32 mph)
3. HO Omni Wide
This water ski is based off of HO’s most popular shape, with added width. The extra surface area needed to provide easier starts and more stable turns.
The Omni was designed with a Hybrid Waist width. This allows the slalom ski to fall between traditional slalom skis and wideride skis. This provides smooth instinctive turns at a wide range of speeds. The Omni also features a deep concave and a continuous rocker line which will give you more stability and intuitive turns.
(Best skied between 24 and 34 mph)
